Welcome to the Zombie House. Why do we call it the Zombie House? Look closer if you dare, just to the left of the front door.

When we first moved to Athens and I would drive to voice in Atlanta via a lovely route of country backroads, I noticed the curtain by the door of this house was being held open just a sliver by someone peeking outside each time I passed–no matter what time of day or night. Being a little clueless, I imagined it was a lonely, home-bound elderly person with nothing better to do than watch the world out of that thin window.

At that time, the only thing you could see through the sheer curtain was a human figure.

Finally, I realized it must be a mannequin.

Months later, it happened. Someone had fully opened the curtains! As I always did, I looked over and there she was…THE ZOMBIE BRIDE! It was horrifying! I snapped this picture then stepped on the gas pedal before she could come out after me.

One evening as we were headed into the big city for a concert, it was my dear friend and colleague Lauren McCullough who noticed the Zombie Bride had company. It appeared she had a new roomie/boyfriend/groom who had no head, but looked dapper in his blue checkerboard shirt standing at the living room window.

At night, the windows where these two reside are backlit for everyone to see.

Who owns the place? I’m not sure, but one day was shocked to see a man and his dog sitting on the front porch, and he waved at me as I not-so-subtlely snapped his photo.

Why have such unique house guests? I have no idea, but I’m completely fascinated by all the goings on in this strangle little old house in the middle of nowhere.

Roam & Ramble was inspired by my Jeep Wrangler I absolutely love to drive. As I roam past various curiosities on my journeys, I often wonder about them and decided to make a game of taking a shot that has to feature some part of my Jeep and then ramble on a bit about whatever it is that has me wondering.#‎MyJeepStory #‎KB4Jeep #‎Zombies
