What do you do?
Truth be told, I do a lot of different things as a voice-over talent and business owner. To put it succinctly, I voice pretty much anything I’m hired to voice.
The majority of my VO work is commercials, corporate projects, TV promos, and medical narration. I also do character voice over, documentary, and docuseries narrations, AI/Device voice recording, live announcing, podcast hosting, and a lot of other very cool voice-over stuff.
What’s your home studio like?
I hired the best of the best, and I bought the best of the best…twice. Ross Wissbaum is a well respected engineer and total audio brainiac. I hired him 10+ years ago to install a home studio in the house we were building. Recently, we moved and Ross came to spend another weekend in our home installing my new home studio. He came and spent the weekend in my home helping me equip and set up my home studio to deliver top-quality sound. Both times, Ross made sure my studio delivers top quality, broadcast ready sound.
Thanks to Ross, my clients are always telling me that the quality of my studio sound is great. What’s just as important is the fact that I know how to use it and can address issues if there’s ever any hiccup.
What kind of recording set up do you use?
In general I use my Neumann TLM 103 as my daily driver microphone, but I also have a Sennheiser 416 if clients prefer.
Other gear includes Studiobricks sound booth, Grace m101 preamp, Allen & Heath Zed 14 Mixer, Source Connect Standard, and more.
Do you work directly or through a voice-over talent agent?
Both. It’s up to my clients. I have talent agency representation across the country, or I can be booked directly. See my agents’ contact information or contact me directly.
What do directors ask you to sound like?
Since I’ve been doing voiceover for so long, it’s a long list. Here are some of the most common specs and directions I’m booked for on VO projects:
